22.- Everglades, Back view of the airboat

This is a rear view from the airboat. A typical airboat is built to operate over shallow water. There is no rudder in the water, just a flat-bottomed boat. The bottom of the boat is about 30 centimeters under the surface of the water. A large fan pulls the air in front of the boat and pushes the air back past the rudder. In this photo, you can see the exhaust pipe of the engine. Keep your hands inside the boat! You can see the long blades of grass ; like a blade of a sword, the edge of the grass can cut you.
