Yes, the alligator
is hiding behind the blades of grass.

Canals were cut in
parts of the Everglades to move the water off the land.
The water continues to move, so the dirt in the water is
suspended and stops you from seeing the beauty of the
real River of Grass. If we go farther north, there are
places where the water moves very slowly and the dirt
stays on the bottom. You can see fish very clearly in the
water, which is about a meter deep or less. Here, you can
see the dead branches along the side of the canal and,
yes, there is a "piece of wood" that is very dangerous!
