12/24.- Cahuita National Park, Cahuita Beach

The region of Cahuita has two seasons, the rainy and the dry season. The rainy season is from September through December. But even during the rainy season the sun shines. Actually the picture on the left was taken late in November.

North of Cahuita there is another beach, the Playa Negra (or Black beach), with black sand.

I recommend entering the park first thing in the morning. If the park's beaches are too crowded, you may go to Black Beach after leaving the park.
