23/24.- National Park of Marino Ballena

The Marino Ballena National Park is about two hours from La Palma. The length of the ride will depend on the condition of the roads, which, by the way, are among the worst in Costa Rica.

The Marino Ballena National Park is one of the newest in Costa Rica. It was created in order to protect the marine resources north of Osa Peninsula, on the south of Costa Rica's Pacific Coast. Marino Ballena is a good place to spot whales and dolphins. Melon-headed whales, sperm whales and humpback whales can be seen in the area. The best season is between December and April. Ask your hotel for information on boat tours.

Marino Ballena Park is also popular among scuba divers.
