In downtown, somewhat far away, is the Pinacoteca do Estado. The best way to get here is by metro.

The Pinacoteca do Estado is one of the most important museums in Brazil. The museum displays more than six thousand works. Most of the works are Brazilian paintings from the 19th and 20th centuries.
