São Paulo, Copan building
The
Edifício Copan is another of São Paulo's landmarks. The building was designed by
Oscar Niemeyer, the famous Brazilian architect responsible for Brazilia.
The idea behind the Copan Building was to create an urban center similar to the Rockefeller Center in New York City. The building was completed in 1966. In its more than one thousand apartments live more than five thousand people. The building is so big, that it has its own ZIP code.
Not far from this impressive building is the Our Lady of Consolaçao Church.
