21/40.- São Paulo, Avenue São Joao

The metro in São Paulo surprised me for its efficiency and speed. Most of the people in São Paulo use the metro to move around. The price of the tickets is not cheap, by local standards, but the metro works like a Swiss clock. Waiting time between trains is almost non-existent. Transfers are quick and easy.

The center of the metro network is the Station of Se, quite a show during the rush hour. Thousands of people moving around, and waiting for their train. The traffic inside the metro stations can only be compared to that in Tokyo. By the way, the São Paulo metro does not have much to envy of the one in Tokyo.
