Avenida Paulista is a long avenue surrounded by skyscrapers. This is a good place to start your visit to São Paulo. The area is quite safe.

The safest way of moving around São Paulo is the taxi. Taxis are not expensive, and are easy to find.

Taxis always have red license plates, and a "Taxi" sign on top. There are two types of taxis, the regular ones, which are cheaper, and the radio taxis.; If you want to call a radio taxi, ask your hotel. Tipping is voluntary.
