42/46.- Salvador da Bahia, Piedade Square

In Praça Piedade there are the Igreja de Nossa Senhora da Piedade and the Igreja de São Pedro.

In the 18th century this used to be the town's main square. It was here that some popular demonstrations that changed the history of Bahia took place. The square, and its churches, were recently restored, and have regained some of their lost splendor.
