47/50.- Rio de Janeiro, Carnival in Sambodrome

The entrance ticket includes two cards, one is to get to the Sambodrome, and the other to access your section. It is very important not to lose this second card.

It is only allowed to bring two pieces of food and two bottles of water. You can bring your camera. The Sambodrome is quite safe. If you want to take good pictures, you will have to bring a good zoom lens. You should also bring spare batteries and memory cards. Think that during ten hours, you will not stop taking pictures.

During the show, vendors sell drinks, ice creams and snacks. Vendors wear vests with the price of the drinks. You just have to make sure you get the exact change.

The start of each show is announced by the speaker in Portuguese (only), and with fireworks. The parade starts at one end of the street. If you sit at the other end, the first members of the Samba school will not be visible until, at least, 10 minutes later.
