14/16.- Porto Seguro, beaches

Beaches are located north of the town. Some of the nicest beaches are: Ponta Grande, a quiet beach; Barramares, where locals practice the “lambaeróbica”, a mixture of lambada and aerobic; Taperapuã, with lots of sports activities; Mundaí, great for snorkeling; and Itacimirim, with its natural swimming pools.

Temperatures in Summer range from high to very high, the sun shines almost every day. A good sun protection will be necessary. Along the beach there are several hotels, with varied prices. This is the best area to stay.

Waters are warm all year round, sometimes so warm that it is not refreshing. If you have a sensible skin I would recommend not taking your T-shirt off, even while going for a swim.
