In this picture you can see Igreja Matriz de Nossa Senhora do Pilar. This church was built in 1733, and one should not miss the 400 Kilos of gold used in the decoration of its altars.

Ouro Preto is one of Brazil's top tourist destinations, for this reason most people you will meet here speak some English. The local language is Brazilian, a dialect of Portuguese.
