Olinda, Convento de São Francisco
The
Convento de São Francisco is the oldest Franciscan convent in Brazil. It was originally built in
1585. The convent was partially destroyed during the Dutch period, and rebuilt at the end of the 17th century.
Masses are held on Sundays (8h), Tuesdays (19h) and Saturdays (17h). The church is only open on Tuesdays and Fridays (8h-12h and 14h-17h), and Saturdays (8h-12h).
