12/28.- Olinda, Igreja de Nossa Senhora do Amparo

The Igreja de Nossa Senhora do Amparo was originally built at the beginning of the 17th century, by local musicians and bachelors. The Church was burnt down by the Dutch, who rebuilt it in 1644.

The church opens its doors at 7h30 and 13h every day. On Sundays, at 17h, there is a public mass.

In front of the Church of Amparo there is a square, where you will find some bars, restaurants, and internet cafés.

We will now walk back uphill to the Church of Misericórdia, and visit the Museum de Arte Sacra.
