9/28.- Olinda, Igreja de Nossa Senhora da Misericordia

In 1540 a hospital and a church (the Hospital da Santa Casa da Misericórdia) were built here. They were burnt down by the Dutch in 1631. The Church was rebuilt in 1654, and in the following centuries it was remodeled several times.

The Church of Misericordia is on the top of a hill, from where there is a nice view.
