Marina and shopping mall in the background with restaurants and shops reflect the growing prosperity in Aruba. In 1824 gold was discovered and immigrants from Europe and Venezuela thronged here to make their fortunes. After the mines were exhausted, aloe production kept the economy going. Aruba aloe creams are terrific. I recommend that you buy some when you're here.
