6/37.- Ngorongoro, Valley

This is a beautiful valley Among "the green hills of Africa" on our way to the land near the great crater of Ngorongoro. There is a constant balance sought between farmer, Maasai cattle herder and conservation officer for the wild animals. Some farms are in the animal reserves so on occasion a hungry elephant will trample a field of crops. The view here is typical for the time of year, just before the great rains of March and April. This photograph was taken on January 31.
